General Summary
Eastern Michigan University (EMU) Occupational Therapy (OT) Program invites applications for a 8month tenuretrack faculty position in Occupational Therapy. This position beginning in Fall 2025 offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of the second oldest OT program in Michigan recognized for its excellence within the university and beyond.
EMUs Occupational Therapy (OT) program a recognized program of excellence is part of the School of Health Sciences within the College of Health and Human Services. College supports interprofessional education and research. EMU actively supports scholarly endeavors with robust internal funding opportunities.
The OT faculty are dedicated educators with strong ties to the community and profession offering collaborative teamtaught courses in an integrated curriculum. Our MOT program consistently produces successful graduates.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
EMUs Occupational Therapy program seeks individuals with a strong commitment to teaching scholarship and service. The successful candidates will teach in the entrylevel Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) program advise and mentor students and engage in scholarship and professional service.
Responsibilities
Teach courses in the entrylevel MOT program and Undergraduate preOT courses
Engage in active research pursue scholarly activities and publish scholarly work
Mentor student research and advise graduate students.
Engage in service activities within the department university and broader community.
Contribute to interprofessional education and collaborate across disciplines.
Participate in program development (e.g. curriculum design new degree programs)
Minimum Qualifications:
An earned terminal degree (i.e. PhD EdD DSc DHS or OTD) in Occupational Therapy Rehabilitation Science or related discipline. Candidates nearing completion of their doctorate by the time of employment will also be considered.
A minimum of five 5 years of clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist.
Initial certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and eligibility for licensure in the state of Michigan
Demonstrated potential for scholarship and a defined research agenda.
Effective written and verbal communication skills along with effective interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least two 2 years of teaching experience in higher education.
Clinical / Instructional expertise in the areas of pediatrics mental and behavioral health research methods
Ability to teach courses aligned with clinical or research expertise.
Evidence of scholarly contributions to the profession and/or interprofessional field (i.e. publications presentations at local state and national levels).
Desire to teach in an interprofessional setting and collaborate with diverse teams.
Commitment to diversity innovation and collaboration.
