Job Description

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the divisions daytoday business operations including customer service safety compliance operational efficiency and personnel management.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily facility inspections.

  • Develop monitor and maintain productivity reports for processing.

  • Ensure timely completion of safety documentation.

  • Track and manage waste processing per company policies.

  • Identify and implement costeffective waste processing methods.

  • Monitor inbound and outbound waste inventory levels.

  • Track and allocate disposal budget spending monthly.

  • Ensure availability of necessary tools for processing tasks.

  • Mentor and train new and shortservice workers (SSW).

  • Schedule and facilitate training for equipment use.

  • Provide handson training for new processes.

  • Update SOPs for all processing tasks.

  • Supervise processing technicians and daily activities.

  • Maintain the daily task board with clear instructions.

  • Lead by example in handling challenging waste streams and new processes.

  • Ensure employee compliance with GFL Safety Policies.

  • Conduct and document safety inspections and workplace audits.

  • Identify evaluate and address workplace hazards.

  • Lead incident investigations as required.

  • Able to travel 35 to Dayton/Cincinatti OH area.

Skills Knowledge and Key Competencies:

  • Hazwhoper certification.

  • Strong leadership experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Teams).

  • Strong communication planning and organizational skills.

  • Problemsolving ability with minimal supervision.

  • Standard First Aid/CPR (a plus).

  • Bachelors degree in environmental services preferred.

Physical & Environmental Demands:

  • Regularly lift/move up to 35 lbs.; occasionally up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stand walk kneel stoop climb and use hands frequently.

  • Requires close vision distance vision color vision depth perception and focus adjustment.

  • Exposure to loud noise moving machinery vibration chemicals fumes and airborne particles.
