Job Description

POSITION SCOPE:


The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing the operation and maintenance for the machinery in our companys facility. The Maintenance Manager plans develops implements new and revised preventative maintenance scheduling while assisting with production. This person will help by suggesting new ideas on how to improve processes.

REPORTS TO:


General Manager


ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Understands follows and enforces all established safety health quality GMP and Company policies procedures and recognized practices.
  • Understands follows and enforces all established policies procedures and recognized practices.
  • Maintain controls for assuring successful plant performance to budgeted goals.
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facilitys equipment.
  • Diagnose problems replace or repair parts test and make adjustments.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during operation and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines equipment and plant facilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including but not limited to mechanical electrical pneumatic hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Perform simple machinist skills.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Assist and train production employees in proper operation and maintenance of machinery
  • Limited travel may be required
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices recordkeeping systems forms of control and budgetary and personnel requirements implementing change.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points equipment and resources maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A 4year BA or BS degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years of Supervision with Production position
  • Experience working with the following machinery brands: Ropak; Bartelt; Matrix; Hayssen; Cartoners
  • Continuous Improvement experience
  • Bilingual; read write and speak fluent Spanish (a must)
  • Strong selfstarter. Must be investigative by nature and willing to challenge the status quo.
  • Extremely detailoriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Journeyman level training or equivalent in training & experience required
  • 35 years experience in facilities maintenance (warehouse equipment and grounds) required
  • HVAC plumbing and electrical certification preferred
  • Provide leadership to full time and temporary staffing.

  • The employee frequently is required to stand for extended periods often upwards of 50 of the day.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and at times lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • This jobs specific vision abilities include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. (With or without corrective lenses)

  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures
  • Wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) where needed
  • Immediately report any unsafe conditions or other safetyrelated issues
