Position Title

Senior Product Manager eCommerce

Job Position Summary

The Primary objective of this role is to increase direct and owned channel (Akasa Air Mobile App and Website) contribution and CSAT by constantly managing and monitoring the booking engine product on app and web deliver exceptional website and app performance and improve conversion ratios.

Key responsibilities

Product Management

  • Own the product lifecycle for digital platforms (web/app) including ideation prioritization roadmaps and launch of features (e.g. conversion initiatives personalisation upsells customer experience enhancements).
  • Define detailed business requirements in BRDs to enable efficient and effective development
  • Develop CXcentric products (e.g. AIdriven trip planners advanced notification centres etc) to improve retention and repeat usage.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI teams to design intuitive frictionless journeys that align with customer personas behavioral insights and opportunities observed in the transaction funnels.
  • The role will include optimisation of the payment gateway and ownership of web and app analytics.
  • Proactively monitor product health (e.g. uptime performance metrics on GA4 userreported issues) via dashboards and feedback channels; triage document and prioritize bugs with engineering teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Champion a testandlearn culture piloting emerging tech (e.g. AI integrations to reduce manual effort automations voice search etc).
  • CoLead / Leader special projects undertaken by the business.

Platform Optimization & Performance

  • Conduct A/B tests heatmap analysis and usability studies to refine flows (e.g. checkout seat selection) and reduce dropoffs.
  • Collaborate with CRM and Analytics teams to deploy predictive analytics for personalized recommendations.
  • Partner with IT to deliver world class web and app performance.
  • Partner with external vendors to implement web and app accessibility.

Customer Experience (CX) Initiatives for eCommerce

  • Design and implement CX improvement initiatives (e.g. oneclick rebooking proactive service messaging) to boost satisfaction and platform stickiness.
  • Leverage customer feedback (surveys reviews session recordings) to identify pain points and prioritize feature enhancements.
  • Ideate and work with internal and external partners to build a chatbot to service customers across pre during and posttravel touchpoints.

CrossFunctional Collaboration

  • Partner with Marketing and CRM teams to leverage single view data into use case on the web and app platforms.
  • Align with Commercial teams to develop and monetize CX features (e.g. exclusive apponly offers promo code engine).
  • Identify external vendors in collaboration with IT and procurement for product deliveries that require external support or product integrations.
  • Partner with Marketing Automation teams to refine remarketing upselling and crossselling strategies (insession/postsession).

Desired Qualification / certifications

  • Masters / PG degree in Business Computer Science or Product; MBA or MS in Product Management preferred. A higher weightage will be placed on relevant experience.

Preferred relevant work experience

  • 10 years of experience in Digital and eCommerce operational discipline on web and mobile apps. Airline/travel industry experience is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of prior experience in product management of HighPerformance and highvolume eCommerce platforms.
  • Experience driving direct sales through owned platforms focusing on customer acquisition and retention and payment gateway implementation and health.
  • Uptodate with the latest trends and best practices in UX/UI and conversion optimisation
  • Strong analytical skills and experience generating MIS reports and dashboards
  • Strong knowledge of Analytics tools GA4 or similar and Product Management tools Jira and Figma
  • Experience with Firebase
  • Experience with chatbot implementation preferred.
  • Familiarity with A/B and multivariate experimenting.
  • Knowledge of Marketing Automation with Clevertap Webengage or MoEngage is preferred.
  • Familiarity of HTML CSS and JavaScript development and constraints preferred. This role does not require hands on expertise in coding.
  • Experience in evaluation of digital products /solutions and building business cases with recommendations.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced ambiguous environment with a strong action bias
  • High analytical ability & process oriented.
  • Soft Skills: Strategic prioritization stakeholder management and a passion for humancentered design.
