The Role:
Our site in Billerica MA is seeking a/an New Product Development Engineering CoOp to join our team for the Fall 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.

The New Product Development Engineering CoOp will focus on bringing new products to market. The position primarily involves product and equipment design intellectual property investigation prototyping as well as handson process development. Coops will gain valuable experience in plastic product design and automated manufacturing practices.

What Youll Do:
Conduct research and assembling design proposals providing accurate timelines for project tasks and clearly presenting project details
Ideate model prototype develop conduct peer reviews and introduce new products and processing technologies
Perform automation equipment design and development
Fixture and component design and implementation using 3D modeling and drawing techniques
Collaborate with team members to review concepts prototypes designs drawings and technical specifications
Part failure analysis with emphasis on identifying root cause and suggestions for improvement
Critical thinking and problem solving constantly striving to improve the product development process
Adapt to project scope changes analyzing and resolving problems and making quick responsible decisions with limited information

What We Seek:
Creative detailoriented able to solve complex problems using methodical approach and rational thinking
Familiarity with SolidWorks 3D modeling and drawing)
Manual dexterity basic knowledge of tools and how to use them
Willingness to learn and adapt quickly in a fastpaced working environment
Strong communication skills ability to convey information both verbally and in writing
Innovative thinking and problem solving
Team player who leads by example

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
Mechanical Engineering or ElectroMechanical Engineering
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program with a graduation date of December 2025 or later

Eligibility:
Must be a currently enrolled student
Available to work 40 hours a week MF 8a5p) beginning in July through December
Must be familiar with the universitys requirements to participate in a coop program

Compensation: $20$30/hour range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
