The Position
Our client is seeking to fill a Sr. Commercial Underwriting Manager role in the greater Miami FL area. This position will be responsible for supporting the banks functions related to analysis underwriting and the approval/denial processes for all types of loans; specific areas of focus will be C&I Lending Mortgage Lending Equipment Finance Commercial Real Estate Lending and Consumer Lending. This position will work within a team of Credit Analysts Underwriters and support staff to execute and manage risk service and compliance with the banks credit processes and systems.
The position includes a salary of up to $150K and an excellent benefits package. Periodic travel is required. (This is not a remote position)
Responsible for reviewing and approving credit requests to ensure that proposed loans adhere to existing policy guidelines.
Approves or denies loans within an assigned credit authority for the banks various lending groups including specialty lending commercial lending mortgage lending and consumer lending.
Establishes implements and manages administrative and review systems and procedures to protect the quality and profitability of the loan portfolio.
Provides training development and coordination of credit analysts and underwriting staff.
Advises credit and lending staff on the companys overall lending policy and underwriting standards.
Assists in creating and administering all policies and procedures.
Helps facilitate the external loan review process and serves as a key point of contact and resource for the loan audit and loan compliance functions.
Serves as the systems expert and administrator of the banks various lending origination systems for commercial mortgage and consumer lending.
Manages relationships with vendors including but not limited to key lending software partners and the banks credit report provider.

You also bring the following skills and experience:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in all types of bank lending preferred with indepth knowledge of credit analysis banking laws and regulations/regulatory requirements.
Must have 8 years of experience with a bank of at least $2B in asset size.
Strong organizational interpersonal management communication (both written and oral) analytical critical thinking skills.
Strong Excel skills and the ability to calculate all necessary ratios to perform credit analysis required.
Previous Credit Approval Authority required.
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in Finance or Accounting
