DescriptionThe Data Integration Architect is responsible for the planning coordination development and supervision of all activities related to the integration of software programs applications and thirdparty solutions to meet the business requirements of Seaspan Shipyards. The integration needs are primarily focused on connecting onpremises and cloudbased commercial software applications such as CAD systems PLM ERP and MRP systems. This individual is also responsible for developing and maintaining an application integration architecture blueprint for the organization.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.
What youll do
- Develop data architecture standards data and integration governance frameworks and system integration standards that are aligned with Seaspan Shipyards Enterprise Architecture and emerging technology standards.
- Ensure the data & integration architecture is scalable secure and supports advanced data governance maturity. Develop and maintain the technology stack to include commercial or opensource integration platforms.
- Provide expert advice to project teams on use of integration technology data architecture and data modeling system architecture including integration best practices.
- Provide oversight in standards adherence through reviews of project work including detailed technical specifications and application code.
- Work with project teams in definition of requirements for integration strategies of their projects into the Enterprise Architecture.
- Work with leaders across business and IT teams to ensure data systems and data architecture meet current and emerging business objectives.
- Oversee development and support of batch and backend processes related to the application portfolio.
- Assist with incident response troubleshooting root cause analysis and problem resolution.
- Communicate project status to different levels of management.
- Oversee the technology and standards for version control.
- Partner with leaders of other teams to ensure proposed solutions align with information technology infrastructure business and security architectures.
- Lead business and technical engagement sessions expected functions include facilitation of requirements workshops provide data driven and leading practices recommendations.
- All other projects and duties as required or assigned.
What youll bring
- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science Data Science Engineering Business Administration or completion of a Postsecondary Diploma in Computer Science.
- A minimum of 5 years related work experience (Data Architecture integration architecture and data architecture standards frameworks and practices).
- Experience in an engineering or manufacturing heavy industry is an asset but not a must.
- Expertise in both data modelling and data integration leading practices for (onpremise and cloud).
- Specifically on data warehousing ETL data modeling database design integration tools like Oracle OIC Azure.
- Deep knowledge of system integration methods including Azure Web Services SOAP JSON XML and business process automation tools.
- Expertise in modern data management and data engineering tools including Python Hive Ruby Spark Databricks.
- Experience building integration through Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) is an asset.
- Experience in analytical development leveraging Azure analytic components.
- Strong understanding of system development life cycles project management and change management principles.
- Experience with developing and maintaining application integrations and data warehouses.
- Expertise in solution design and development vendor management enterprise application support.
- Experience in establishing DMBOK practices is an asset.
- Experience in delivering machine learning capabilities within a scaled cloud compute environment.
- Communication prioritization problem solving decision making and delegation abilities.

The estimated salary for this position is $112700 $135200. In determining final salary Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidates skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Companys sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
