Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Beekeeper with a background in commercial beekeeping and California almond pollination. This role involves managing and maintaining healthy colonies for largescale pollination during the almond season. The position requires handson expertise and a deep understanding of commercial beekeeping practices particularly in California.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage honeybee colonies to ensure optimal health and productivity for almond pollination.
- Monitor hive conditions and address issues such as pests diseases and queen health.
- Transport and set up hives for pollination assignments in almond orchards.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of hives.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet pollination targets and timelines.
- Maintain detailed records of hive activities and conditions.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Proven commercial beekeeping experience 3 years preferred).
- Experience with California almond pollination.
- Knowledge of hive management pest control and bee health.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel as needed.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with pollination technology or equipment.
- Strong understanding of honeybee biology and behavior.
