This position will report to the Manager of Legal Practice Support. The position will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative and substantive legal support to the Immigration team in an environment where collaboration and exceptional client service is emphasized.
Legal Practice Assistants are part of ML LawPath a comprehensive program that combines substantive law firm experience with practical handson training and professional development opportunities. It is designed to provide the experience connections and continuous learning to fast track your career with an opportunity to form client relationships routinely engage with Practice Group attorneys and legal professionals and gain significant analytical and project management skills. ML LawPath endeavors to help Legal Practice Assistants develop a wellrounded skill set and best practices that will foster their success as legal professionals and beyond.
Morgan Lewis recognizes the benefits of supporting flexible working arrangements. This position will reside in the Washington D.C. office with a hybrid inoffice/remote working schedule. Flexibility with overtime is required. A commitment of two to three years is expected and candidates must start no later than June 30 2025.
Key responsibilities of this position:
Assist with special projects for the Firms Immigration practice under the supervision of Immigration Operations ManagerUS.
Assist Sr. Manager Legal Practice Support Immigration and Immigration Operations ManagerUS with power point presentations for clients and training materials for Immigration Team.
Enter and maintain data in the Immigration departments case management systems.
Assist Immigration Team members with preparation and analysis of status reports for clients.
Keep clients informed about the progress of their cases or documents required to finalize their cases.
Organize and maintain immigration files.
Assist Immigration department leadership attorneys case managers and immigration paralegals with preparation and/or filing of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions with government agencies.
Assist Immigration department leadership attorneys case managers and immigration paralegals with preparation and/or filing of responses to requests for additional evidence received from USCIS (US Citizenship and Immigration Services).
Attend firm/team group meetings and events.
Attend continuing education programs/seminars.
Provide administrative support as needed.
Experience/Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree required;
One 1 year of internship or professional experience preferred; immigration experience a plus.
Independent selfstarting and selfmotivated.
Superior written/verbal communication skills strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and within a team environment are a must.
Exceptional organization skills.
Proven ability to meet stringent deadlines adapt to changing priorities and balance multiple tasks while operating in a fastpaced and dynamic environment.
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel Adobe and PowerPoint.
Experience with LawLogix and/or INSZoom case management systems a plus.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

For positions in Washington DC. the salary range for this job posting is: $53200.00 $85150.00.
The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors including but not limited to prior experience relevant expertise current business needs and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired the employee will be in an atwill position and the firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance firm or individual department/team performance and market factors.
