We are looking for motivated Journeyman/Journeywoman Carpenters to help with a variety of remodeling restoration and new home construction projects. The Ideal candidate would be someone looking for a Journeyman/Journeywoman Carpenter level position in the construction industry with a desire to learn and grow within an expanding organization. While Journeyman Carpenters work under the supervision of a Crew Lead or Foreman they are expected to independently resolve complex constructionrelated challenges involving all aspects of carpentry.
General Responsibilities:
Cull and organize materials for crew to handle on job sites.
Operate tools and machinery safely and effectively for carpentry tasks.
Assist in the coordination of carpentry work with that of Crew Lead/Foreman.
Maintain clean and organized job sites to ensure safety and efficiency.
Help with heavy lifting of materials and equipment as needed on job sites.
Be able to perform ALL duties of carpenter or finish carpenter following recognize procedures/techniques for such work as required to build any residential construction building.
Act as Crew Lead/Foreman in his/her absence.
Requirements:
At least four years in construction related labor in residential construction with at least two of those years in finish carpentry.
Knowledge of and ability to operate all carpenter tools and equipment.
Ability to lay out construction remodeling and alteration work.
Ability to read blueprints.
Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job including heavy work with exposure to inclement weather conditions for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to lift load and unload heavy construction materials frequently.
Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
This position will require a significant amount of driving so any candidate must have a drivers license and reliable transportation.
Journeyman/Journeywomen are required to own at least a basic set of carpentry tools including: a case of drill bits tin snips combination square flat bar (pry bar) trim pry bar set stud finder coping saw line level construction calculator sliding bevel gauge wire tie twister (whirly bird).
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a fulltime position. Days and hours of work are MondayFriday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. 40 hour week)
