Job Description

VP/Controller (CFO Path)

Exciting unique growthheavy startup is looking for its next rising star Chief Financial Officer. This position is located in the New Jersey suburbs (hybrid schedule).

We are targeting an ambitious Controller Director or VP Financelevel who should be ready for the next stage of their career. He/she should be ready to evolve into the strategic financial leader for a growing franchise enterprise growing locations propelling revenue and a be ready for a very bright future. This role and opportunity are broadlybased and requires a proactive business leader who brings value to the CEO and executive leadership team. Core Responsibilities:
  • Own/lead the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) budgeting treasury accounting tax legal and risk management.
  • Prepare and review financial and operational KPIs
  • Prepare and manage thirdparty lender covenant reporting
  • Prepare and present board level materials during monthly operating calls and quarterly board meetings
  • Interface with private equity deal team
  • Help drive all strategic finance/FP&A with the ability to communicate analytically at a high level as well as in the field.
  • The successful candidate will be a rollupyoursleeves executive who can pivot between stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with supply chain components and will work with procurement to review opportunities across the supply chain to maximize efficient cost structure while managing risk
  • The CFO should want to get into the field to start understanding systems and processes at the restaurant level and should understand how revenues are maximized and costs are incurred
  • Understand and support the franchisee customer experience ensuring each stage is positive
  • Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations
  • Support FDD annual filing
  • Proactively partner with business leaders to set and deliver on KPIs and performance objectives to drive scaling of operations and profitability
  • Works closely with operations marketing and development in efficient of the budget

Experience & Qualifications:
  • CPA is required (active preferred)
  • Bigfour or regional/national public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • 8 years of experience required
  • Franchising industry experience is required
  • Excellent financial reporting operational accounting and audit support required
  • FP&A knowledge is highly preferred
  • Outstanding leadership and presentation skills
  • Possess multifunctional business team capabilities to achieve strong results
  • Be ready to leadby example in a fun high energy and collaborative work culture (established startuplike)
  • Versatile flexible adaptable personality willing to rollupthesleeves
  • Experience with BI tools (PowerBI or Tableau) is helpful and preferred
  • Experience with Intacct or NetSuite is helpful and preferred

Compensation Range & Structure:
  • $200k base / Annual Bonus Target Incentive Equity Compensation included
