Description of Work

This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Note: Permanent and timelimited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or timelimited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporaries are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.


Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. OSHR supports the Governors Job Ready initiative and seeks to expand a temporarys skill set to enhance their qualifications for State government and private sector jobs. Exposure to an agencys culture process procedures and potential learning opportunities can provide valuable experience to those who may seek permanent employment with the state.

This temporary position is located in Raleigh NC Wake County.


Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $24.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).


This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Insurance. This position is located at 1429 Rock Quarry Rd Raleigh NC 27610.

1. Generate reports to obtain building and contents replacement costs insurance overages agency funding building construction and occupancy features etc.
2. Inventory property assets to assist with loss controls
3. Analyze and compare data and review it for accuracy and completeness
4. Enter data into the State Property Fire Insurance Fund (SPFIF) database
5. Work with software develops to affect database changes and updates
6. Monitor payments to SPFIF
7. Perform accounting operations for the insurance coverages that are provided by the SPFIF
8. Monitor accounts receivable control ledgers and subledges
9. Provided assistance to the school fund managers and program administrators
10. Prepare Excel spreadsheets consisting of policy update information flood information and GIS mapping data
11. Review scheduled property for building and contents insurance
12. Assist with daily operations of office that are not limited to letters emails mail and checks
13. Assist with special projects
14. Reconcile the States automobile retrospective program
15. Maintain files and track agency information for the State Motor Vehicle Program
16. DMV Report Review: Accurately review and analyze DMV reports to ensure compliance with State Motor Vehicle Safety Programs standards. Administrative Support: Assist with daily office operations including data entry filing and scheduling
17. Assists in preparing and organizing documents using Microsoft Office products Word and Excel
18. Make phone contacts with a variety of individuals including Agency Fleet Coordinators staff and other interested parties to deliver a variety of information as needed

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree from appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
