Position Number:112350Position Title (Classification Title):Assistant Professor 112350Working Title:Assistant Professor of Construction ManagementJob Summary:The successful candidate will teach at the undergraduate level conduct research advise students mentor student projects and perform service activities that contribute to the success of the department and the mission of the university. The position will be located at our Pensacola campus.DepartmentMechanical EngineeringFLSA:ExemptMinimum Qualifications:Minimum requirements are a PhD in Construction Management or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the start date of the appointment or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a strong commitment to teaching academic research and service.Position Qualifications:Minimum requirements are a PhD in Construction Management or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the start date of the appointment or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a strong commitment to teaching academic research and service.Preferred QualificationsWhile all areas within Construction Management will be considered preference will be given to candidates who can teach a wide range of Construction Management courses.Essential Functions / Job Duties:
  • 75 Teaching classes (Essential)
  • 25 Research and service (Essential)
Physical Demands:
  • Physical Requirements: Occasional and/or light lifting required. Limited exposure to elements such as heat cold noise dust dirt chemicals etc. but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely results would be cuts bruises etc.
  • Impact of Deadlines:Routine deadlines. Usually sufficient lead time. Variance in work volume seasonal and predictable. Priorities can be anticipated. Some interruptions are present. Involves occasional exposure to demands/pressures from persons other than immediate sup.
