Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provides comprehensive health care to patients in various states of health or illness in collaboration with one or more physicians using guidelines agreed upon with physicians. Practices medicine as part of the Physician directed team in those areas directed to do so by their physician group. Provides care to patients in various states of health and/or illness under the scope of practice developed with their physician group. This is a rotating position inclusive of nights and weekends. A fulltime position is defined as 34 patient facing hours a week.
EDUCATION:
For PAs: Successful completion of educational program recognized by the national Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants certification as a Vermont Physician Assistant through completion of Board approved apprenticeship and evaluation or graduation from the boardapproved PA program. Must have PA and bachelors degree. Successful completion of a CAAHEP approved PA educational program. NCCPA certification is expected. Must hold certification from the Vermont Board of Medical Practice as a PA. Must have a bachelors degree masters degree preferred.
For NPs: Registered nurse who has successfully completed formal education program approved by the Vermont Board of Nursing or state or national accrediting agency which prepares nurses to function in advanced nursing also be certified by national certifying agency recognized by the Vermont State Board of Nursing.
EXPERIENCE:
3 years or 2 years if completion of an approved post graduate emergency medicine training program.
