Job Description

Project Engineer

We are seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team as a Project Engineer. This position reports directly to the Director of Project Management.

With oversight from all members of the project team the Project Engineer (PE) provides project support to assigned Project Managers as well as working with Project Administrators. The PE helps to ensure a successful project that: 1 meets quality standards 2 is completed on or ahead of the schedule and on or under budget 3 outperforms safety goals and 4 fosters a continuous positive relationship with the client.

Position Summary

  • Assist the Project Manager with daytoday operations to effectively manage the construction project.
  • Complete preplanning meeting agenda checklist preinstallation meeting forms and registrations for all work related to project.
  • Complete proposal and change order requests and submit to Project Manager for review/submission.
  • Create and send Request for Information (RFI) to CM and/or A/E as requested by the PM or Superintendent.
  • Assist Project Manager in qualifying and selecting subcontractors and vendors working in collaboration with the preconstruction team.
  • Attend progress meetings at the project site as needed paying attention to progress quality and safety. Includes documenting progress photos and assembling and distributing meeting minutes.
  • Review estimates plans and specifications and learn unique aspects of the project.
  • Create change orders for subs/suppliers for the PM to review prior to sending to sub/supplier.
  • Review submittals for compliance with project documents.
  • Assist Project Administrator with compliance tracking documentation including second tier and start dates for PW projects
  • Assist Project Manager with assembling subcontract and supplier packages including all projectrequired documents. Includes generation of subcontractorspecific submittal register exhibits.
  • Focus on building the client relationship strong communications and strong project to secure future/repeat work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Systems Management or related field preferred but not required.
  • 13 years of construction experience including past internship or coop experience.
  • General knowledge of Construction Management and Design/Build contract delivery systems.
  • Computer proficient.
  • Extremely detail oriented and accurate.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organization and coordination skills.

Primary Location:Bellefontaine Ohio or Columbus Ohio
