Job Description
Little Flower Manor a nonprofit 127bed nursing home founded in 1977 is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. Situated on beautifully landscaped grounds our facility provides shortterm rehabilitation and longterm care options while fostering a warm and welcoming environment for our residents.
The LPN plays a vital role in providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include administering medications monitoring patient conditions assisting with daily living activities and maintaining accurate patient records.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess as a minimum a graduate of a State approved School of Practical Nursing with current Pennsylvania licensed as an L.P.N.
- Previous experience in longterm care preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor.
- COVID 19 vaccination mandatory for all staff. Flu vaccination required when in season.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the Registered Nurse.
- Provide wound care and other medical treatments as needed.
- Assist with patient activities of daily living including bathing dressing and feeding.
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate patient records.
- Adhere to all federal state and local regulations.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENT:
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner with a good memory.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Must possess sight hearing touching smelling senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Must function independently and have flexibility personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with residents personnel and support agencies.
- Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
- Must be able to relate to and work with the ill disabled elderly emotionally upset and at times hostile people within the facility.
- Must be able to lift push pull and move equipment supplies etc. in excess of fifty pounds.
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position including climbing balancing carrying crouching grasping kneeling reaching standing and stooping.
