Other Conditions: To begin immediately pending position clearance and availability of funds; annually renewable subject to satisfactory performance; position may be eligible for increase in FTE upon availability funding and departmental need.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in teaching courses in the Dept. of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) including and not limited to advanced clinical practicum.
  • Provide clinical education for oncampus practicum through direct services in screening diagnosing and treating patients with speech language and cognitive communication disorders in the University Health Partners of Hawaii Speech and Hearing Clinic.
  • Participate in developing implementing and evaluating CSDs clinical education curriculum.
  • Pursue collaborative and/or independent research in areas of interest or subspecialty.
  • Other scholarly clinical and administrative duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field from college or university of recognized standing with major work in CSD.
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in SpeechLanguage Pathology from the American SpeechLanguageHearing Association (ASHA CCCSLP).
  • State of Hawaii Speech Pathologist license to practice in the State of Hawaii by date of hire.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience and expertise in area of specialty.
  • Demonstrated ability as a teacher and clinician in speechlanguage pathology.
  • Poise and good address for meeting collaborating and conferring with others.


Desirable Qualifications

  • Clinical experience in evaluating and treating adults with neurogenic communication disorders.
  • Experience in working with multicultural and multilingual populations.
  • Prior Experience in supervising student clinicians.
