In this role you will be responsible for aligning permit programs with the overarching goals and objectives of the Department by effectively organizing directing planning and coordinating the strategic initiatives of all permitrelated activities. This includes addressing customer needs and expectations while adhering to sound management practices and principles. You will conduct field inspections of permitted projects to ensure compliance with both the permit specifications and Department regulations overseeing various stages of construction. Your duties will involve assisting in the verification of grades elevations and the layout of structures and roadways in collaboration with contractors and surveyors. Additionally you will inspect the application of materials such as cement concrete bituminous concrete and drainage systems as well as evaluate work zone traffic control measures backfill materials compaction requirements and the restoration of highways including pavements and shoulders all while prioritizing public safety. You will also perform compaction testing using visual nonmovement methods on subsurface strata soils and aggregates. Furthermore you will engage with Department personnel as well as federal state and local agencies legislators and the public to facilitate the effective management and administration of these projects.
