Job Description
Established in 1912 the Jewish Home of CNY evolved from a small rooming house in downtown Syracuse to become the 36acre campus in DeWitt known as Menorah Park. NEW RATE: $16.50 $17.00 per hour
PART TIME: 2030 HOURS A WEEK
EVERY THIRD WEEKEND OFF.
MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR HOLIDAYS.

Responsibilities
- Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required
- Serves meals in the main kitchen
- Assists with meal service set up in the main kitchen. Clearing tables washing dishes and cleaning tables on various resident care floors.
- Transports hot and cold foods to and from the main kitchen to the resident care areas
- Transports all required nonfood items to and from the health center pantries and resident care areas
- Washes silver glass china in dish machinein main kitchen as per regulation
- Provides floor stock snacks and supplements per diet orders
- Maintains stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines in dining rooms
- Maintains work stations in clean organized and in proper order
- Takes order provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously
- Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service
- Answers pertinent questions about menu items
- Ensures that meal tray accurately matches the meal ticket
- Maintains kosher regulations and requirements as per policy
Qualifications
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English communicate effectively perform simple arithmetic and understand measurements and conversions
- Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred but not required
- Ability to plan organize and set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards
- Ability to work in close cooperation with residents guests visitors families supervisor and peers. Requires empathy for the eldery
