PSEGoperates under a Flexible Work Model where flexible work is offered when job requirements allow. In support of this model roles have been categorized into one of four work location categories:

Onsite are roles that have specific onsite requirements and are typically onsite daily.

Hybrid fixed are roles that are a blend of onsite work/inperson interactions with some ability to work remotely and require employees to live within a commutable distance and be onsite fixed days each week.

Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/inperson interactions on a regular basis require employees to live within a commutable distance and since business needs vary by position and may change over time managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.

Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely require employees to live in approved states and will have purposedriven inperson interactions on occasion.

Job Summary/Job Responsibilities

  • Primarily assist attorneys in the commercial practice area of the Law Department.
  • Heavy concentration will be in procurement contracts including ITrelated matters construction contracts and Nuclear matters.
  • Key duties include reviewing interpreting editing negotiating and/or formatting commercial contracts and organization of attorney workflow.
  • Assist in performing administrative tasks like scheduling meetings organizing files in document management system reviewing mail and monitoring notice mailboxes and similar tasks.
  • Act as point of contact with procurement analysts internal clients attorneys and others seeking advice from commercial practice.

Job Specific Qualifications/Required Skills

  • Paralegal certificate or three years relevant work experience on general commercial matters
  • Ability to review edit negotiate and analyze contracts
  • Must have ability to interact professionally with internal clients attorneys retained counsel other paralegals and administrative assistants
  • Proficiency with computer applications including MS Office (i.e. Word Excel and PowerPoint etc. Matter Management tools and Contract and Document Management systems
  • Proper management handling and storage of confidential files and documents
  • Ability to perform legal research using Internet based research tools including Westlaw
  • Ability to organize commercial contracts
  • Effective planning and prioritization problem solving organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Must take initiative to assist commercial attorneys in addition to handling ongoing attorney assignments
  • Ability to work under pressure and with time constraints; successfully handle multiple assignments with different attorneys without missing deadlines
  • Team player able to work collaboratively across practice and department lines
  • Must foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity
  • Must demonstrate and value differences in others strengths perspectives approaches and personal choices

Desired Skills

  • College degree or some college level courses
  • Experience in an inhouse corporate environment
  • Proficiency with Ironclad software application
