MD Technology Director Zalando Payments GmbH

ABOUT ZALANDO PAYMENTS GMBH

Payments has been a key driver of Zalandos customer satisfaction growth and profitability almost from the very beginning. Zalando Payments GmbH (ZPS) provides more than 50 million customers across 25 European markets with an array of locally relevant purchasing options as part of our broader convenience proposition. We help to drive deeper customer relationships through locally competitive payment options 20 payment options with a high share of our proprietary BNPL solution) that offer a seamless shopping experience for customers. For third party sellers on our platform we offer flexible billing and payout solutions. ZPS was founded in 2016 and has a BAFINauthorized eMoney license which is passported to all relevant European markets. Currently the ZPS team consists of 250 FTE in total and is led by our Managing Directors KaiUwe Mokros Lea Siering and David Schrder.

THE ROLE & THE TEAM

MD Tech Managing Director Zalando Payments GmbH

Reports to: KaiUwe Mokros Managing Director Zalando Payments GmbH

Location: role is based in Berlin Germany (corporate headquarters 23 days a week onsite presence required) also covering payment technology site in Dortmund Germany 12x per month business travel required)

Team Size: 90 FTE

This role is covering the following areas:

  • Engineering for the Core Payments Checkout Solution our Payment Engine as well as PrePayments Processes our Risk Engine

  • Technical Offering and Integration (inclusion of Zalando Partners in Zalando Payment Offerings)

  • Interfaces with Partners different Payment Providers and Post Payment interdependencies

  • IT Security & IT Governance

  • The ideal candidate should have extensive leadership experience in payment banking or broader sense financial services to meet also the suitability of the regulator (BAFIN).
