Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control. Includes quality assurance of products services manufacturing processes. Includes conformance in manufacturing incoming goods control product inspection witness points etc.
- Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
- Has indepth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management manufacturing technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Specific Role Description
Lead the implementation of BiQ in the Schenectady Factory:
- Establish a Culture of Prevention Stop Work and Continuous improvement within the Factory.
- Develop a training program for all 15 BiQ tools and provide training for salaried and hourly workforce.
- Establish BiQ as part of daily Genba and engage QPEs MEs Technicians and Ops. Leads through kaizens and trystorming activities.
- Establish BiQ to Target Condition 2 in Bar Shop as a pilot area and then leverage to the rest of the Factory.
- Develop a PFMEA and Control Plan by operation identifying risks and focus areas
- Implement SPC in (C&D bay) to capture inprocess data that correlates to (K&L bay) product results and allows for real time process intervention to prevent defects.
- Track and trend results at Genba and apply CA/PAs where needed
- Lead Bar Shop to address long standing Quality issues at Press Form and Tape with support from technicians and technical personnel.
- Establish BiQ to Target Condition 2 in Stator Wind building off existing PFMEA and Quality Plan
- Develop Stator Wind Standard Work for assembly and rework operations that minimize product Quality risk.
- Establish preflight checklists for all high risk operations.
- Mistake proof operations using kaizen updated QMS documentation training and qualification of operators.
- Lead Stator Wind to address long standing Quality issues resulting from FME Stator Bar installation wedging Bar insulation and securement.
- Power Now NCR / RCA Response:
- Establish as the Factory contact for all Power Now NCR and RCA cases. Work all cases related to Factory Operations rerouting those that are not to rightful function / owner.
- Investigate and provide Correction and Containment to all NCR cases within 30 days
- Engage Factory Cells (MEs QPEs Cell Leads) to determine severity level and go forward Corrective Actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Complete 8D RCAs for any Customer Events & Escapes from the Factory within 90 days
- Complete RCIs for any Quality Concerns or where tracking and trending of issues is required
- Drive systemic root cause CA/PAs across other Cells as applicable.
- Participate in Quality Read Across when applicable to share learnings across Value Stream
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college with at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing production quality.

Pay Transparency
The base pay range for this position is $103100.00 $137400.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set. This position is also eligible for 15 variable incentive compensation.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110 120 or 130 of salary in certain areas.
