Position Summary

The role of the Excavation Laborer is to work alongside our Crossbore team assisting with installing sewer access points repair broken sewer pipes excavate sections of the sewer line and expose sections of the gas service. This role will report to the Field Operations Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

• Reports directly to Excavation Crew Lead for daily tasks.
• Utilize hand digging tools vacuum excavation equipment and shoring to excavate and expose buried sewer and gas lines.
• Repair broken sewer lines install cleanouts and uncover buried utilities to ensure they do not conflict with each other.
• Utilize various power tools to assist with repairs and other onthejob tasks.
• Pick up supplies from various plumbing and landscaping suppliers.
• Maintain and ensure the dump truck trailer tools and excavation equipment are serviceable.
• Establish safe work zone and job site setup with direction from Excavation Crew Lead (Placing cones around the vehicle setting up traffic control devices unloading remote hose etc..
• Paint boxes with marking paint for 811 locates prior to excavation work commencing.
• Restore soft and hard surfaces with direction from the Excavation Crew Lead (Sod Grass Brick Concrete landscaping etc..
• Assist Notifications team with hanging door tag hangers when needed.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid Drivers License with a good driving record
• Current DOT physical examination or the ability to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiners Certificate (MEC) required
• Ability to pass a thorough background check and preemployment drug screen required as a condition of employment
• No previous experience required outdoor labor experience a plus!
• Must be able and willing to walk 2 to 5 miles or more per day on various terrain and various weather conditions
• Must be willing to work with sewer and wastewater utility lines
• Lift the 100lbs of equipment regularly throughout the day.
• Proficient using computers to utilize inspection software ArcGIS Online maps Excel Word and email

Pay:

• $21 $23/hr.
