Your purpose:
The Shift Lead assists the Supervisor in the production shifts labor equipment and material resources to ensure production operations are optimized and compliant with quality standards.
Essential Functions:
Perform lead responsibilities as assigned by the shift supervisor.
Lead the shifts production during the shift supervisors absence.
Assist on setups as needed to help the team improve accuracy and efficiency; monitor machines to ensure they are running at optimal speeds.
Conduct product checks to monitor and ensure product quality.
Assist with production signoffs; ensure that the correct job(s) is/are being run.
Promote safety and make sure SQF policies are enforced.
Be familiar and use AX Flex and ScanWorks.
Assist operators when issues arise on the production line.
Train new Operators (setups correctly working machines etc.; actively prepare and train General Helpers/Assistants up to Operators.
Help improve shift communication (production schedules etc..
Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members.
Perform normal Operator duties as assigned/needed.
Report ongoing issues or problems to shift supervisor.
Assist the supervisor to ensure that paperwork is completed and signed correctly.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee will be primarily in our climate1controlled facility. The plant floor is subject to vibration and equipment noise leading to a loud environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and might also be exposed to outside conditions tight spaces cleaning solvents and heights.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
Continuous 6 or more hours per day) bending pushing pulling climbing stairs reaching lifting and grasping.
Continuous 6 or more hours per day) talking listening teaching and repetitive motion hand/wrist movement.
Continuous 6 or more hours per day) standing and walking.
Frequent 1 to 3 hours per day) work in a stooped position.
Good eyesight normal hearing.
Ability to move and lift objects frequently 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a fulltime position on nights with rotating 12hour shifts 6pm6am). Nights and hours may vary depending on assigned shift and productions requirements. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle or customer volume of business.
Travel: Should not be required.
Required Education and Experience:
Ability to read and write English.
High school degree or equivalent.
15 years experience in leadership role preferably manufacturing/operations.
Ability to maintain quality safety and/or infection control standards.
Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
Understanding of manufacturing process and control systems a plus.
Packaging industry experience a plus.
Intermediate skill in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Work Outlook).
Ability to react quickly to changing priorities in a fastpaced work environment.
Effective communication skills via email phone and in person.
Diligent follow through.
