Know Your Rights: Notice for California Applicants: Director of Behavioral Health oversees all functions of the Behavioral Health Program on a 24hour basis. They lead the supervision assessment planning implementation and evaluation of patient care. Additionally they devise and execute programmatic plans ensuring compliance with current regulations and conducting performance improvement activities.
In this role the Director supervises and assesses all staff within the Behavioral Health program effectively managing resources and time for the unit. They report directly to the CNO and maintain clear communication with staff physicians and administration through both written and verbal channels.
Furthermore the Director develops and implements comprehensive Behavioral Health Programming tailored to meet patient demographic needs while aligning with the organizations mission philosophy and objectives.
They integrate Behavioral Health Services into the continuum of care as per facility requirements offering leadership direction and clinical supervision in line with organizational and departmental goals.
Qualifications
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE TRAINING
1. Must have a current and valid Registered Nurse Licensure.
2. Masters degree in psychiatric or mental health nursing (preferred)
3. Must have a Bachelors degree with at least 2 years experience in psychiatric nursing providing care to the mentally ill or be qualified by education and experience in the care of the mentally ill in accordance with local and state regulatory requirements.
4. Must have minimum of two 2 years management experience with Behavioral Health Care programs.
5. Must have BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
6. Must have working knowledge of mental health laws and practice standards.
7. Must have knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health treatment.
8. Must have excellent verbal written and management skills.

Benefits may vary based on employment status i.e. fulltime parttime per diem or temporary. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role which includes estimated wages benefits and other forms of compensation is $94473.60 to $155292.80 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire in which a wide range of factors will be considered including but not limited to skillset years of applicable experience education credentials and licensure.
