Manager - Software Development SCOT-Automated Inventory Management AIM

Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) org is looking for Software Development Manager to join the Automated Inventory Management Team. As a leader of the team you will have the opportunity to work with complex algorithms Distributed Computing Technology BigData computing space to build highly scalable services handling thousands of requests per second that manage inventory plans for millions of items on Amazon. We are looking for a Software Development Manager with a strong sense of ownership and a passion for delivering creative solutions for complex problems on an unprecedented scale. Key job responsibilities
We are seeking someone who has strong technical project and people skills with a cando attitude and a focus on delivering high quality software. We move at a fast pace and deliver software iteratively using AGILE best practices and the latest technologies.
The Ideal Candidate:

Must be technically credible to lead teams of worldclass software engineers and technical program managers. Must be able to make the right design decisions related to product features and technology choices.
Expertise in Distributed computing Technologies Designing scalable lowlatency highthroughput faulttolerance systems dealing with realtime data will be a big advantage
Deep understanding of overall systems development life cycle including various methodologies (agile waterfall iterative)
Experienced in developing the longterm strategy for the settlement platforms and translate that into an achievable roadmap
Experienced in building and managing teams that design and deliver scalable and extensible distributed systems to address complex business challenges.
Understands how to scope and justify resources and budget needs to senior leaders and finance partners
Consistent focus on operational excellence and security of systems.
Experience with open source technologies objectoriented design and agile development methodologies

About the team
We are the AIM team under Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT). SCOT is the name of a complex group of systems designed to make the best decisions when it comes to forecasting buying placing and shipping inventory. Functionally these teams work together to drive instock drive placement drive inventory removal and manage the customer experience.

3 years of engineering team management experience
7 years of engineering experience
8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
