Job Title:Speech & Language Therapist Pontypool
Banding: 7
Location: Pontypool
Start: ASAP
Duration: Full time
Salary: 38000 48000 per year
Working hours: Monday Friday 40 hours per week 8:30am 4:30pm and 39 weeks per year
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Band 7 Speech & Language Therapist to join our specialist day college in Pontypool. This role involves working with 22 pupils aged 1625 years who have a broad range of physical and learning disabilities including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). What will your responsibilities be:
- Assessing planning implementing and evaluating therapy programmes for learners with complex communication needs to support their development and learning.
- Promoting the development of students communication skills across the college supporting wider learning and taking an active role in the development of new provisions.
- Accurately recording all therapeutic interventions.
- Completing complex assessments precollege assessments and if appropriately trained dysphagia assessments where required.
- Providing supervision and support to SLTs and offering professional advice training and information to college staff.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- HCPC registered
- Willingness to undertake dysphagia training
- Experience and understanding of PMLD AAC ASD and ABI
