JOB SUMMARY:
Support management in directing and coordinating activities of Quality Control personnel. Routinely provides feedback to management on personnel issues and performance. Actively supports and implements daily/weekly/monthly planning and scheduling. Ability to multitask and use basic problemsolving skills. Actively promotes engages in and maintains positive working relationships with other departments and shifts in supporting department activities. Provides neat timely and accurate inspection reports; facilitates problem resolution; provides input to Engineering and/or Management in areas of expertise during problem resolution or project planning stage(s). Perform quality control inspections in the following areas: composites fiberglass laminate construction and structural nondestructive testing (NDT). Performs all duties in accordance with Universal Orlando and Technical Services policies and procedures.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and delegates work tasks. Supports follows and implements QC planning and scheduling for the assigned shift. Delegates work assignments among qualified team members. Communicates performance expectations in an effort to ensure proper completion of tasks; provides feedback for recognition and performance improvement. Manage down time recovery while maintaining composure and keeping the Team Members and guests safe.
- Actively reinforces company safety guidelines and programs; reports or corrects noncompliance. Monitors employees productivity work habits. Leads work startup and stoppage schedules breaks. Monitors care condition use and storage of tools equipment and other UO property daily. Manages material inventory processes. Monitors compliance with wardrobe/grooming standards driving policy radio usage and other UO policies.
- Ensures proper completion of documentation ensuring accurate data entry and standardization daily. Documents Team Members behaviors using the Lead Observation Report to support managerial and supervisory documentation. Provides Team Member performance feedback every week to the supervisor.
- Communicates and coordinates with other departments. Communicates resource needs and work plans to supervision.
- Performs job duties as described in nonlead job description. Maintains and shares job knowledge assists in developing
employees. - Assists with training new and current employees. Assigns who will provide daily training. Follows up with trainer on employee training status.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SCOPE:
Responsible for managing Quality Control personnel in the inspection and documentation of Type I and Type II equipment for Ride and Show Central Shops Facilities Engineering and Creative.
EDUCATION:
- High school degree or GED is required. Technical school is preferred.
- Associates degree (AA) or (AS) in quality or related field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Required 13 years: experience in a technical field.
- Required 1 Year: Completing Quality Control Annual inspections.
- Required 1 Year: Answering and responding Ride and Show requests for inspection to maintain operational readiness.
- Preferred 1 Year: Experience with major Ride and Show attractions and performing inspections of structural (including bolting) mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic equipment elements essential to those attractions.
- Preferred 1 Year: Experience or can show experience in or provide documented proof in performing NDT Inspection of equipment using Visual Inspection (VT) Magnetic Particle Inspection (MT) and Liquid Penetrant Inspections (PT).
- Preferred 1 Year: Experience working with machine and weld shop fabrications and Q/C inspections for compliance with mechanical drawings.
CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:
- Level II certification in Magnetic Particle Test (MT) in accordance with American Society for Non Destructive Testing (ASNT) required
- Level II certification in Liquid Penetrant Inspection (PT) in accordance with American Society for Non Destructive Testing (ASNT) required
- UO inhouse Certified Composite Inspector Level II required
- National Association of Amusement Ride Safety Officials Level I (NAARSO) required
- Industrial rope access certification preferred
