We seek a motivated and enthusiastic instructor to teach introductory microbiology biology and biochemistry courses. The ideal candidate is committed to teaching excellence and handson learning in both classroom and laboratory settings. This position offers the opportunity to join a closeknit academic community where faculty play a key role in student development. Courses are taught during the Fall and Spring semesters (AugustApril) with no summer teaching responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate courses in introductory microbiology general biology and biochemistry including both lectures and labs.
Develop and implement engaging course materials and assessments aligned with department goals and institutional learning outcomes.
Foster an interactive learning environment for students with diverse scientific backgrounds.
Maintain office hours to provide student support and guidance.
Participate in departmental activities and meetings.
Stay current in the field and incorporate new knowledge into teaching.
Engage in collegewide events activities and committees as needed.
Qualifications
Masters (required) or Ph.D. (preferred) in Microbiology Biology or a related field.
Collegelevel teaching experience in microbiology biology biochemistry or related subjects (preferred).
Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and accessibly.
Passion for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students particularly nonscience majors.
Commitment to fostering belonging in the classroom and college community providing individualized support to meet each students unique experiences and needs.
Strong organizational and timemanagement skills.
Dedication to providing engaging handson laboratory experiences.
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills for working within a small academic community.
