Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated Training Superintendent (Trades) to join our dynamic team based in Osborne Park. In this role you will monitor apprentices progress through their on and off the job training ensuring required skills and competencies are being developed effectively.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Determining workplace training requirements for apprentices and work closely with managers/supervisors to ensure apprentices are provided with opportunities and support to develop all required skills.
  • Providing mentoring and coaching to apprentices.
  • Reviewing apprentice RTO feedback/results and logbooks. Adapt workplace training as required and coordinate any resits/reenrolments with apprentice/supervisor to ensure requirements are met.
  • Liaising closely with RTOs to understand the training and competency requirements for apprentices.
  • Implementing training tools in a thorough and highquality manner to train apprentices and verify their competency levels.
  • Working with HR to ensure all records are kept current with progress.
  • Collaborating with workshop managers to enable maximum use of existing training systems and resources throughout the organisation/locations.
  • Continuous monitoring of apprentice and trade workplace training quality and initiate the necessary changes to ensure these services are achieving their objectives.
  • Assisting in the development of new procedures and processes to further enhance trade knowledge
  • Facilitate Trade Upgrades and Dual Training Process for nominated workers.

To be considered for this role you will need the following:

  • Trade Certificate (Heavy Diesel Mechanic highly regarded)
  • Certificate IV Training & Assessment.
  • Previous experience in the coordination of workplace training and apprentices/trades.
  • Experience and knowledge of the mining industry and heavy earthmoving machinery.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to quickly establish and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel nationally.
