Incorporated in 1955 Ocean Steel services several markets including Atlantic Canada the Eastern United States Bermuda and the Caribbean. Although they specialize in fabricating and erecting structural steel for buildings and bridges they also manufacture and install platework such as breechings stacks ducts penstocks process & storage tanks and custom processequipment. OceanSteels two New Brunswick plants include the original location in Saint John as well as the York Steel Plant in Fredericton which was acquired by Ocean Steel in 1995.

Responsibilities

• Providing assistance for Machine Operators and Steel Fitters.
• Load and unload trucks in yard
• Assist with taping areas
• Use of overhead cranes
• Snow Removal in winter months

Requirements

• Completion of high school
• Previous experience in structural steel fabrication shop considered an asset
• Successful helpers will have an opportunity to advance and to apply and train for Welder Fitter and Machine Operator positions
