Job Description

The Web and Digital Media Specialist provides potential visitors guests members staff and attenders with an easytouse and compelling experience through Wheaton Bible Church (WBC) websites and other electronic communication channels. Through management of our web sites email campaigns Google ads and copywriting this individual will contribute to the churchs total effort to communicate our purpose and programs with excellence as we pursue our mission. This is an onsite position. Bilingual (written and verbal fluency) in Spanish and English is required.

Responsibilities:
  1. Distribute (not write) weekly enewsletters via Mailchimp. Review analytics and innovate to improve open and clickthrough rates.
  2. Maintain the websites for WBC Iglesia del Pueblo (Spanish speaking congregation) Preschool and Puente del Pueblo ministry.
    1. Curate the look feel and tone of the sites ensuring they are engaging easy to navigate and in sync with church priorities and brand standard. This includes photo selection copywriting and editing.
    2. Assist ministries with web resources and updates developing ministry pages and key site destinations.
    3. Work with web host and WBC art director to implement major changes as needed.
    4. Train provide feedback and review changes made by ministry admins to website backend.
    5. Ensure website security backups and software/plugin updates.
    6. Monitor website performance and fix any technical issues.
    7. Optimize site speed and mobile responsiveness.
    8. Maintain accessibility compliance for all users.
    9. Maintain a userfriendly interface and easy navigation.
    10. Ensure website integrates well with church management software and social media.
    11. Troubleshoot website errors and downtime issues.

  4. Review and manage Google Ads.
  5. Provide analytics and reporting to facilitate strategic use of each digital property.
  6. Monitor track and report analytics of worship service livestreams and site engagement.
  7. Partner with ministry staff on using English/Spanish translations generated from AI.
  8. Work alongside team in designing church app. Develop and maintain the app.
  9. Additional projects as requested.

Requirements:
  1. Bachelors degree in web digital media marketing communication or related field preferred.
  2. Bilingual; fluent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
  3. 13 years of digital communication experience including web design and a working knowledge of current web technologies and emerging digital media. Experience in a church or nonprofit environment a plus.
  4. A heart to serve others a team player flexible and the ability to collaborate in graphic design copy/editing and video to create cohesive messaging and brand consistency.
  5. Familiarity with basic web programming code (HTML/CSS)
  6. Fluency with Mac OS; familiarity with Windows IOS and Android.
  7. Familiarity with basic design principles including Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design Guidelines.
  8. Familiarity with Adobe Suite and MailChimp CRM platform.
  9. Forward thinking strategic selfdirected and willing to learn new things.
  10. An understanding of church ministries as well as the ability to function efficiently in a church setting.
  11. Acceptance and agreement with WBC Statement of Doctrine and Faith and WBC Statement of Christian Lifestyle.
  12. Willing to become a Wheaton Bible Church attender and member within 12 months.
Status: Onsite Parttime nonexempt 2528 hours/week (this will fluctuate seasonally)
Benefits: All parttime employees working more than 20 hours per week receive PTO and paid holidays.
