Summary
The Select P&C Insurance Marketer will provide marketing for Select Line accounts and maintain strong
relationships with carriers through the following duties.
50 Relationships and Marketing
- Assisting with or collecting data from prospects needed to market account for all lines of coverage.
- Developing quality submissions to carriers for appropriate types of coverage.
- Submitting information to insurance carriers and negotiating premiums and coverage in a timely manner.
- Negotiating with carrier personnel and underwriters to develop the most attractive proposal our prospects.
- Reviewing quotes prepares spreadsheets and additional content specific to prospect size and situation.
- Interacting regularly to build conducive and personal relationships with carrier personnel; this includes managing phone calls and emails in a timely manner and attending offsite meetings as scheduled for relationship building and product knowledge.
- Preparing formal proposals and communicating to Sales Producers.
- Developing Producer/Director confidence in job knowledge judgment calls and awareness of current industry trends and developments.
- Handling complex policy issues and finding resolution with minimal Producer/Director involvement.
30 Insurance Knowledge
Knows coverage for various Property and Casualty lines of business and is capable of researching various resources to gain more knowledge. This applies to all other areas of responsibility.
10 Teamwork Communication and Organization:
Works together with team and with other departments such as Sales Producers Account Managers etc. Plans and discusses the of strategies. Meets deadlines set forth by Producers. Volunteers to back up and/or assist other as needed. Manages PTO according to departmental needs. Completes special projects as requested by the Manager.
10 Determination
Displays commitment and initiative to meet department and agency education goals as set forth in the organizations education program.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 12 employees (Marketing Assistants). Responsibilities include assigning and directing work.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database Software; Design Software; Spreadsheet Software; Word Processing Software and Internet software.
Education and/or Experience
At least three years related insurance experience and/or training preferably handling multiline
commercial accounts; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
