Job Description
The Brand Experience and Excellence (BEE) organization creates builds and leads innovation for Brand Owners in the Amazon store worldwide. An SDE in BEE delivers high and lowlevel architectural designs and implementations in both existing and netnew areas. They oversee implementations at the component level that can span multiple months and may support highlyvisible initiatives. Their implementations must be logical testable and maintainable. They draw upon experience to use good judgment to assess shortterm vs. longterm solutions. SDEs are fullstack engineers capable of making technical and design tradeoffs as well as advocating for best practices across the team especially in terms of OE improvements. They must also mentor other team members especially when collaborating through code reviews technical designs and team meetings and may lead more junior engineers through project delivery. SDE2s readily dive deep into new technologies and systems in order to deliver software.
Our growing portfolio of BEE tools enable brands to tell their unique Brand and product stories optimize content through statistical experimentation solicit and manage reviews to earn Customer trust and grow their business as well as engage with new and loyal Customers through a variety of channels. The ideal candidate should have a strong customer focus coupled with a passion for continuous datadriven improvements. They should have a strong sense of ownership and a passion for delivering creative solutions for complex problems. To succeed in our peoplefirst culture a passion for mentoring teamwork and strong communication skills are absolute requirements. Creating reliable scalable and high performance services requires exceptional technical expertise and a sound foundation in the fundamentals of Computer Science and largescale distributed systems.

3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
