Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant Grant Invoicing Specialist is central to our organizations financial operations overseeing the invoicing process for grant funds and ensuring punctual submissions to grantors. Essential to this role is a robust comprehension of nonprofit accounting principles alongside exceptional communication abilities and a collaborative approach in engaging with diverse stakeholders. Acting as a vital link between our organization and grantors the Specialist must effectively convey complex financial information and foster collaborative relationships with internal teams to streamline processes. This position offers a unique opportunity for a detailoriented professional to significantly impact our organizations financial health through precise and timely management of grant fund invoicing while nurturing key stakeholder relationships.

What you will do:

  • Prepare and submit invoices for grant funds according to grantor requirements and deadlines.
  • Review grant agreements and budgets to ensure accuracy in invoicing.
  • Maintain detailed records of grant expenditures and revenue tracking variances and reconciling discrepancies as needed.
  • Collaborate with program managers Grant Accountants and finance team members to gather necessary documentation for invoicing.
  • Assist the Grant Finance Team with preparing journal entries ongoing audit readiness and various accounting tasks.
  • Stay informed about changes in grant regulations and accounting standards ensuring compliance in all grantrelated activities.

Qualifications

We would like to hear from people that have:

  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • 2 years of experience in accounting financial analysis invoicing and reporting preferably in a nonprofit environment or public sector.
  • Ability to synthesize information across multiple environments to ensure consistency and accuracy in assumptions and reporting.
  • Strong analytical organizational and problemsolving skills.Attention to detail required.
  • Proven ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Prior experience in administering federal grants a plus.
  • Proficiency with MicrosoftOffice advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Financial Edge experience a plus).
  • Familiarity with PowerBI and Power Query a plus.
  • Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community is considered a plus.
  • If in recovery must have a minimum of two years sobriety/clean time.
  • Ability to pass a preemployment or for cause drug tests.
  • Ability to pass criminal background and DMV checks.
