The Santa Paula Unified School District is excited to announce an Open and Promotional opportunity for the position of:
RESOURCE SERVICES SPECIALISTSPHYSICAL EDUCATON
The vacancy is parttime for 5.5 hours per day.
The purpose of this examination is to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies occurring during the next 12 months.

Employees may be eligible for an annual degree stipend paid tenthly (whichever is greater): $250/Associates $500/Bachelors; $750/Masters

BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of a Principal assist staff in reinforcing instruction related to Physical Education organize and coordinate games and competitions throughout the day.
Assiststaffinprovidinginstructionandassistancetostudentsduringphysicaleducation.
Organize and coordinate games and competitions throughout the day as assigned.
Research and reproduce resource materials.
Assist in the preparation and presentation of lesson plans for physical education; assist staff with lesson planrelated matters.
Assistindividualorsmallgroupsto demonstrate athleticskills andtechniques as required.
Provideinstructional support to staff byexplaininggame rules to students.
Organize maintain and distributephysical education equipment.
Perform physical education activities and exercises with students and encourage student participation; perform demonstrations and ensure student understanding.
Observe and refocus behavior of students during physical education activities; report progress regarding student performance and behavior.
Ensure the health and safety of students by following established practices and procedures.
OTHER DUTIES:
Perform related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from high school or its equivalent supplemented by collegelevel course work in physical education and one year experience in working with youth in an organized physical education setting.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Physical education related activities and equipment.
Student guidance principles and practices.
Safe practices in physical education activities.
Basic instructional methods and techniques.
Oral and written communication skills.
Interpersonal skills using tact patience and courtesy.
Basic recordkeeping techniques.
ABILITY TO:
Assist in the preparation of instructional materials.
Assist certificated teachers with maintaining the rules and procedures of sports and physical education activities.
Assist with and participate in games sports and physical activities.
Set up sports equipment.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective workingrelationships with others.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Observe health and safety regulations.
