Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Sr. Engineer to architect design develop and test technologies that control and optimize robotic fulfillment used by .com operations.
As a Senior Software Development Engineer on the Movement Sciences & Schedule team you are a key member of a diverse team of engineers who deliver highly scalable robotic systems. You will architect design and implement systems which perform the detailed planning and of movement for hundreds of thousands of robotic drives within Amazons Robotics solution. Our teams software is at the heart of ensuring Amazons retail customers get their packages on time.
You will have opportunities to collaborate and work with firmware engineers applied scientists data scientists and crossfunctional teams on cuttingedge automation solutions for Amazons evergrowing robotic fleet.
Key job responsibilities
Architect design and implement distributed systems applications and infrastructure in support of robotic movement.
Influence the teams strategy and contribute to longterm vision and roadmap.
Work with stakeholders across solutions architecture and operations teams to iterate on design and implementation.
Maintain high standards by participating in reviews designing for fault tolerance and operational excellence and creating mechanisms for continuous improvement.
Prototype and test concepts or features both through simulation and emulators and with live robotic equipment
Work directly with customers and partners to test prototypes and incorporate feedback.
Mentor other engineer team members.
Utilize software engineering processes and technologies.

As a software engineer on this collaborative team you will be directly involved in developing cloudbased highperformance solutions that orchestrate movement for a worldwide fleet of mobile robots and provide realtime data processing that brings data science models to realworld use. The Movement Sciences & Scheduling (MOSS) team builds cloudbased high performance software services that provide a central hub for sequencing all activities that orchestrate mobile robot movement. Highspeed access to this information is used to plan and execute work allowing the mobile robots to deliver inventory into storage and to associates to fulfill customer orders.
We also work with our data scientists to provide realtime data streaming and processing software that brings the data science models to realworld use. This system identifies issues on the warehouse floor that are impacting mobile robot performance and enables operations teams to take action.
7 years of noninternship professional software development experience
7 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
Highly scalable systems experience
5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Masters degree in computer science or equivalent
5 years of highly scalable systems experience
