Overview
Radiology Tech East Des Moines Family Medicine
Des Moines Iowa
Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
**$5000.00 Signon Bonus for external candidates.
Responsibilities
This position will be a dual position performing both radiology imaging functions and also supporting lab functions.
Clinical Imaging:
Accurately perform diagnostic exams of patient as requested by provider using proper imaging techniques.
Provide proper education of procedure to patients their family and others as needed.
Employ proper radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
Practice sterile techniques and prevent crosscontamination to patients.
Perform quality control activities on imaging equipment to ensure optimum image quality.
Verify that an annual and successful inspection is performed by a Radiation Physicist.
Lab:
Perform phlebotomy duties and process/package specimens according to protocols.
Collect and prepare specimens for point of care testing.
Record and document laboratory results for each performed test. Retain records for the required length of time in a secure location.
Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment and work area according to policy and procedure.
Perform quality controls within laboratory using standard laboratory test and measurement controls.
Qualifications
- Current Certification from ARRT for Radiology Tech.
- Current License to Practice (State of Iowa).
- High school diploma.
- BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
- Prior lab experience preferred.
