ABOUT INUVIALUIT REGIONAL CORPORATION (IRC)
IRC was created in 1984 to represent the Inuvialuit and their rights and benefits obtained under one of Canadas oldest comprehensive land claim agreements. With assets over $1 billion not including vast land holdings IRC is responsible for corporate investment land management and a broad range of social cultural and economic programs and services benefiting Inuvialuit. Its subsidiaries have interests in grocery manufacturing property management transportation and significant dealings in the oil and gas industry.

JOB SUMMARY
Working with IRCs Innovation Inuvialuit Science and Climate Change Division (ISCC) you will learn about the implementation of marine programming as well as the process of analyzing marine policy. You will be working closely with the Marine Policy Advisor Marine Programming Coordinator and other ISCC team members to support a variety of marinerelated objectives. Additionally you will have the opportunity to job shadow the Marine Policy Advisor to gain experience in policy conceptualization and advocacy. The employment term and weekly commitment will be flexible for this opportunity.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be/have:
EDUCATION
University of college student interested in marine policy and/or programming
EXPERIENCE
Interest in marinerelated policy and/or programming
Interest and/or experience in planning community engagement
Strong analytical abilities
Summarizing documents and writing reports
Familiarity with marine activities in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region
Familiarity with the role the ocean and waterways play in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region
Familiar with Microsoft Office and has experience using Word.
