Job Description
Landmark Hospital of Cape Girardeau has an exciting opportunity for a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our dedicated and professional team. Landmark Hospital of Cape Girardeau is committed to providing the highest level of customer service and quality of care to those we serve.
Shift: PRN MF Day Shift
Summary: As a Physical Therapist Assistant you will contribute to physical therapists effectiveness by identifying patient care issues; providing information and commentary; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physical therapy directives assessing patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining updating and studying therapy histories.
Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Responsibilities:
- Assess abnormal conditions by reviewing physical therapists interpretations of patient evaluations and test results
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records
- Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises; instructing encouraging and assisting patients in performing physical activities such as nonmanual exercises ambulatory functional activities and dailyliving activities; and in using supportive devices such as crutches canes and prostheses
- Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; promoting wellness and health maintenance
- Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations; adhering to infectioncontrol policies and protocols
Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Requirements:
- Associates Degree from an Accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant License in state of MO
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Long term acute care/hospital experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be organized a team player and detailoriented
- Good computer and basic math skills
