Edelman Public & Government Affairs (P&GA) is a specialty team within the Edelman network of trusted and experienced public affairs advisorsincluding former government officials political advisors policy and regulatory experts lawyers economists and industry professionals. Our experience within federal state and local government and regulatory systems allows Edelman to help clients understand and engage effectively. Our team provides strategic counsel and develops campaigns to help clients engage with government politics policy and regulation to proactively earn trust achieve success or protect its license to operate.
Edelmans Public & Government Affairs team is seeking an Account Supervisor to help manage and execute strategic communications and advocacy initiatives for clients across industries. This role will support public affairs campaigns policy communications stakeholder engagement and government affairs efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of public policy media relations and political communications with experience in government affairs public relations or a related field.

Responsibilities:

    • Serve as daily client contact working with an integrated team to provide strategic counsel and manage communications and public affairs campaigns.
    • Develop and execute integrated public affairs strategies including media relations digital advocacy and stakeholder engagement.
    • Conduct policy research and analysis to inform messaging and advocacy initiatives.
    • Draft and edit materials opeds policy briefs and social media content.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key media policymakers industry leaders and other stakeholders.
    • Monitor legislative regulatory and political developments that impact client objectives.
    • Oversee account operations ensuring deliverables meet highquality standards and deadlines.
    • Mentor and manage junior team members fostering professional growth and collaboration.

You can also expect to:

    • Support lead and execute earned media and stakeholder engagement strategies for a number of our global clients.
    • Manage client deliverables and coordinate directly with clients and P&GA crossfunctional teams to deliver top tier work.
    • Develop new business proposals for prospective clients in the industry that demonstrateEdelman Public & Government Affairs capabilities.
    • Lead content and editorial development in a number of capacities including: OpEds press releases media pitches media lists award submissions executive and spokesperson messaging and talking points etc.
    • Lead research and analysis for client proposals strategies approaches for existing and new clients.
    • Manage client deliverables and counsel for our DCbased and/or global clients in the network.
    • Assist in managing client budgets in partnership with account leads and support with billing expenses team dynamics etc.

Basic Qualifications:

    • Have a minimum of 4 years professional experience in communications
    • Hold a Bachelors degree or possess equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working in a government agency on Capitol Hill or in a public affairs firm
    • Knowledge of digital advocacy tools and campaign tactics
    • Familiarity with regulatory and legislative processes
    • Have developed and executed integrated public affairs strategies including media relations digital advocacy and stakeholder engagement.
    • Comfortable providing strategic counsel
    • Have conducted policy research and analysis
    • Have experience drafting and editing press materials opeds policy briefs and social media content
    • Comfortable building relationships with media and other stakeholders
    • Experience ensuring deliverables meet highquality standards and deadlines
    • Have mentored and managed junior team members
    • Ideally have experience overseeing client account operations and have served as a client contact
$68000 $96000 a year

An employees pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location performance travel requirements revenuebased metrics any contractual agreements and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEHs total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses a Paid Time Off policy and regionspecific benefits.
