Job Description

HR Supervisor

We are working on a newly created HR Supervisor role in the food manufacturing industry. This position will be responsible for onboarding & recruiting employee engagement compensation benefits payroll and learning & development. This role will also consultant with corporate HR while also working closely with plant management.

Location: Holmes County OH

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to plant employees and management
  • Maintain current knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements
  • Lead local employee relations effort maintain employee engagement reinforce company culture and address employee performance issues
  • Serve as the local resource for employee benefit questions
  • Assist with payroll processing
  • Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes benefits or company policies
  • Administer new employee on boarding orientation
  • Develop and maintain talent management process
  • Collaborate with the HR leader to develop effective recruitment strategies
  • Identify future staffing needs and assist in recruitment and hiring activities
  • Maintain confidential employee personnel records
  • Conduct exit interviews and recommend corrective action if necessary
  • Maintain highest level of confidentiality related to organizational changes
  • Day to day office organization and general tasks
  • Assist with purchasing for all departments

Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in related field HR Organizational Psychology Business
  • Previous experience in manufacturing grocery. Food preferred
  • History of employee relations experience
  • 5 years experience of HR generalist experience
  • Past supervisory experience
  • SHRM Certification preferred
  • Cursory knowledge of federal state and local HR & payroll requirements
  • Proficient with MS Office and HRIS systems
  • Strong understanding of HR legal precedents policies and practices
  • Strong ability to build credible relationships with managers and team members across the organization
  • Able to exercise sound judgement coaching influencing and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong business acumen
