Traffic Clerk

SCHEDULE: Monday Friday 6:30 am 3:00 pm
Flexibility is required as schedule adjustments may be necessary based on business needs.
Hourly Pay Rate: $25.74
Basic Functions
Support Algoods core values by incorporating them in daily thoughts and actions.
The Traffic Clerk serves as a logistic liaison with internal and external movement of Algood Food Company materials and products. This position orchestrates the communication necessary to properly receive ship and store inventory necessary for daily operations.

Reports to: Shipping and Receiving Supervisor Supervises: This position has no direct reports
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
***A Traffic Clerk will be trained in both the Receiving and Shipping Duties***
Receiving Duties
Systematically receive all products coming into Algood Food Company
This may include Peanuts Maintenance Sanitation Office Supplies and Product Packaging and Supplies used for production
Transfer received products/items to the appropriate warehouse.
Ensure the proper paperwork accompanies shipment to each warehouse
Create and print pallet licenses for all product/items if required
Perform Vendor Returns for various items and departments
Scan all BOLs/Packing lists into appropriate folder for Accounting
Interact with carrier drivers
Interact with carriers and suppliers via telephone and email
Interact with different intercompany departments via telephone and email
Work closely with Accounting on receipts and invoices
Schedule pallet deliveries
Work with Purchasing on the Incoming Schedule
Work closely with receiving operators to ensure incoming loads are unloading in a timely manner
Work with shuttle driver to ensure appropriate trailers are backed in to the dock for various departments
Regular and reliable attendance at the work location is an essential function of this position
Shipping Duties
Build leads to Sales Orders entered by Sales and print lead details sheet
Pick/Ship Release all loads
Confirm all loads
can all shippers into appropriate folder for Accounting
Execute the Shipping Status report daily
Interact with carrier drivers
Interact with carriers and suppliers via telephone and email
Interact with different intercompany departments via telephone and email
Schedule carriers for product pickups
Work with customers to ensure product is picked up
Log shipments onto various electronic logs
Prepare USDA loads for bidding freight secure bids and award bids
Work with Quality to ensure product is released for shipment
Verify lot codes and shipment quantities for each shipment
Review all Sales orders for over/under shipment
Ensure all shipment documentation is stamped and verified before releasing for shipment and verify driver credentials
Pull upcoming orders for operators to prestage/COA
Work with Sales/Accounting on customer returns (RMAs)
Work closely with shipping operators to ensure outgoing loads are loaded in a timely manner
Work to keep freight cost to a minimum

This position requires less than 10 travel on an as needed basis

Education Experience and Training
Requires a high school diploma/GED
Previous related experience required
At minimum of 23 years experience in Food Manufacturing
Language Skills: Ability to speak clearly and distinctly in the English language. Ability to read analyze and interpret common instructions and schedules
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add subtract multiply and divide all units of measure.
Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions or procedures furnished in written oral or diagrammatic form. Ability to deal with problems that arise on a day to day basis
HACCP and SQF training required
Forklift experience preferred
