Who You Are:
Reporting to the Director of Training the Instructional Designer will design develop and deliver effective and engaging learning experiences for Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) restaurants and Hospitality Quotient (HQ). This role involves collaborating with the Training team and all the stakeholders to create instructional materials and courses that align with USHGs goals and meet the learning needs of target audiences. This individual must cultivate a culture of Enlightened Hospitality for all stakeholders that supports our business objectives and growth.
What Youll Do:
Instructional Design & Development
- Partner with the Director of Training to assess training needs and define learning objectives
- Design and develop curriculum courses and instructional materials for inperson online or blended learning environments based on the overall USHG Training strategy
- Create engaging content using instructional design principles and methodologies
- Develop assessments and evaluations to measure learning effectiveness when applicable
Content Creation
- Produce interactive eLearning modules videos simulations job aids and instructorled training materials
- Leverage tech tools to develop eLearning content
- Ensure all materials are visually appealing userfriendly and aligned with branding guidelines
- Stay updated on emerging learning technologies and incorporate innovative solutions into instructional design
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with USHG Operations and HQ Team to gather content and ensure technical accuracy
- Partner with People Team leadership or learning and development teams to align training programs with USHG goals
What We Need From You:
- Proven experience as an Instructional Designer or in a related role
- At least 2 years experience of graphic design experience
- 1 2 years of print & elearning instructional design experience
- Proficiency with eLearning development tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suites Articulate 360 Adobe Captivate Camtasia).
- Experience with video editing creation and voiceovers
- Knowledge of graphic design software and multimedia tools is a plus
- At least 2 years of restaurant industry experience is strongly preferred
- Ability to share design samples
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong project management and organizational abilities
- Creativity and attention to detail
