WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking aTherapist II to serve inTrauma Servicesin Behavioral Health and Crisis Services.
Therapist provides assessment individual and group therapy to primarily a caseload of survivors of domestic violence sexual human trafficking and general crime including homicide physical hate crimes etc. and their families.
Therapist also provides assessment and counselling with courtordered victims and male/female offenders of partner violence as well as crisis intervention and management.
Therapist assesses the need for psychiatric consultation and refers to the psychiatrist as needed.
Therapist coordinates with victim assistants in cases with civil and criminal justice involvement or crime victim compensation issues.
Therapistmaintainsall records per HIPAA VAWA/FPSA standards of confidentiality and thoroughly documents all contacts.
This position can be underfilled as a Therapist I.
Therapist I Level:
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with aMasters Degree in clinicalor counselling psychology social work marriage and family therapy nursing or a related Behavioral science field.
Experience: None
Equivalency: None
License Requirement:One of the following licenses issued by the State of Maryland must be held prior to appointment andmaintainedby the employee:
Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW).
Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC); or
Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist (LGMFT).
Therapist II Level:
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with aMasters Degree in clinicalor counseling psychology social work marriage and family therapy nursing or a related behavioral science field.
Experience: Two 2 years of professional experiencerenderingtherapeutic counseling social worknursingor psychology services as pertinent to ones professional licensing.
Equivalency: None.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
One of the following licenses issued by the State of Maryland must be held prior to appointment of andmaintainedby the employee:
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC;
Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapy (LCMFT;
Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC;
Licensed Certified Social Worker/Clinical (LCSWC;
Licensed Registered Nurse in the United States certified as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Psychiatric MentalHealthNurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland; or
Licensed Psychologist
Note: There will be no substitutions for this requirement.
We will useinterview preferencecriteria:
Experience providing psychosocial assessment therapy and case management services to survivors of domestic violence sexual human trafficking and general crimes.
Ability to be flexible work required evenings.
Ability to provide services in multiple locations.
Ability to work in a collaborative and coordinated environment with Criminal Justice agencies and other HHS and onprofit agencies.
Bilingual in Spanish Preferred.
