Battle Creek Transit is looking for individuals to perform safe manual operation of nonCDL vehicles such as TeleTransit and/or BCGo according to defined routes and schedules. Related work as apparent or assigned. Work performed under general supervision of the Transit Operations Supervisor. This is a United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) Safety Sensitive position and is subject to mandatory random drug and alcohol testing pursuant to Federal and City regulations and policies.

• Transports passengers doortodoor/curbtocurb via TeleTransit and/or BCGo according to routes schedules and local policies. Complies with local traffic regulations.
• Assists and interacts with passengers as necessary and regulates vehicle heating lighting and ventilation for passenger comfort. Maintains good relationship with public.
• Ensure passengers are properly secured and provide assistance with all vehicle entries and exits. Follow all ADA guidelines/regulations as necessary.
• Completes pretrip and posttrip inspections.
• Properly report all incidents accidents and mechanical concerns.
• Collects and records cash and ticket fares with accuracy.

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid chauffer license in the State of Michigan

Special Requirements:

• Must be able to successfully complete PASS training within 90 days of hire
• Must be able to possess a DOT card upon hire
• Must have negative USDOT preemployment drug screening

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting bending reaching squatting and stooping. Position also requires hand dexterity (grasping holding keyboarding repetitive movements) reading writing eyehand coordination seeing (near and/or far color depth field of vision) hearing using the telephone contact with government officials and the general public working overtime and working alone. Work frequently requires working near moving mechanical parts exposure to fumes or airborne particles and exposure to outdoor weather conditions and occasionally including wet humid hot and cold.
