Ixworth High School is a small friendly secondary school located in the Suffolk village of Ixworth it is around 10 minutes from the A14 15 minutes from Bury St Edmunds and 30 minutes from Ipswich. We have been oversubscribed in recent years and are a popular school.

Our pastoral team has a significant impact on the success of every student at Ixworth High school this can only be achieved by strong leadership high standards and excellent communication with students parents and staff.
The role
We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher (Pastoral) at Ixworth High School. The assistant headteacher leads on attendance behaviour and safeguarding. You will have a personal track record of success in leading pastoral teams and an unrelenting focus that this role has on outcomes for all students.
We are looking for someone with either proven leadership responsibilities or the potential to lead at senior leadership level. You will have a good knowledge of strategies to improve attendance maintain high standards of behaviour and ensure safeguarding is at the forefront of everything we do at Ixworth High School. You will have proven abilities to lead communicate and implement strategies across the school.
The post is not suitable for ECTs candidates with middle leadership experience are encouraged to apply.
