JOB SUMMARY

Manages the clinical and research data resources of the AHWFB Alzheimers Disease Research Center.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Business Administration or related field of study with seven years experience in data management database administration systems analysis and/or systems design; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Masters degree in Information Systems Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Research experience required.
  • Experience within the department preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Assists the Director in developing departmental longrange strategic plans; formulates shortterm and longterm strategies to improve data management efficiencies.
  2. Maintains departmental biospecimen and clinical databases and resources; manages longterm storage of clinical results.
  3. Supervises and coordinates various personnel functions including onboarding and training new and existing staff in cognitive rater training and certification research data collection and management and data and cognitive outcomes quality control.
  4. Serves as departmental liaison with WFBH other departments external researchers and others. Explains and markets department capabilities and shared resources to increase collaborations and to fulfill resource requests of the ADRC.
  5. Administers data elements of the program across center studies and research projects. Assesses new and ongoing programs for needs related to data capture and data management and directs the creation implementation and quality review of center data systems.
  6. Meets with investigators and study teams to determine programming and data management support of proposed and ongoing studies. Determines percentage of programming and biostatistician efforts based on research needs.
  7. Assigns programmer analyst and biostatistician personnel to new research initiatives and collaborates with the Director to determine study needs related to data collection and data management across study systems. Reassigns efforts as necessary to fit the needs of the studies ensuring all study personnel have the appropriate tools and support.
  8. Provides direction and standards for applications development data management and quality control. Compiles and evaluates research resource utilization and allocation. Makes recommendations and oversee changes in operations as necessary. Develops systems for continuous monitoring.
  9. Controls the uniformity and standardization of systems and programming projects. Manages REDCap and databases for investigatorinitiated studies.
  10. Assesses personnel funding training and software and hardware needs for the department as they relate to Information Systems and cognitive outcomes.
  11. Participates in conferences and committee meetings within the department WFUHS and other institutions for Center data systems issues and needs.
  12. Serves as the software site representative such as with Ripple Science. Manages licensing installation configuration and optimization. Develops strategies to accommodate growing needs.
  13. Prepares a variety of reports reflecting activity and progress of the section. Analyzes information identifies issues and implements changes for improvement while keeping the Director apprised of changes.
