Typical Roles & Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable highperformance frontend applications
Lead efforts to improve web performance accessibility and user experience
Collaborate with design product and backend teams to create seamless intuitive UIs
Define and implement frontend architecture component libraries and design systems
Optimize state management API integrations and frontend workflows
Establish best practices for frontend development testing and CI/CD pipelines
Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers
Common Qualifications
While each startup has its own hiring criteria many staff frontend engineering roles in our network look for:
5 years of experience in frontend development with a strong track record of shipping highquality web applications
Deep expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks (React Vue.js Angular Svelte)
Strong proficiency in HTML CSS TypeScript and JavaScript (ES6
Experience integrating with RESTful APIs GraphQL and WebSockets
Knowledge of state management libraries (Redux Zustand Recoil Vuex MobX)
Familiarity with serverside rendering (Next.js Nuxt.js) and static site generation
Strong understanding of web performance optimization accessibility (a11y) and security best practices
Proficiency with version control (Git) CI/CD workflows and frontend testing frameworks (Jest Cypress Playwright)
Experience working in earlystage startups or highgrowth environments
