Role overview
After a period of successful growth we are looking to expand our team of Ophthalmic Assistants at our Newmedica Berkshire site. The role is fulltime 40 hours per week) over 5 daysincluding some weekends on a rota basis
Our Ophthalmic Assistants are the face ofNewmedicatheyreoften amongst the first people that our patients interact with on clinic visits and so having a welcoming friendly empathetic approach is vital.
Itsa busy role youllbe seeinga number ofpatients each day andwill play a key role in the successful operation of our outpatient clinics ensuring that patients receive exceptional care throughout their visit. Your responsibilities will range from assisting in preoperative and postoperative processes to providing vital support in diagnostics and theatre.Youllbe using a variety of different equipment and systems sowerelooking for someone who is comfortable using systems and is fairly tech savvy.
The thought of eye surgery can be a daunting prospect for patients to deal with so our Ophthalmic Assistants need to be able to put patients at ease. They also needstrong communicationskills to be able to explain the purpose of the different tests to ensure the patient understands their treatment.
